REVIEW: Undead and Unemployed (Undead #2) by Mary Janice Davidson

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars, Genre: Humor/ Vampires, Pages: 304, Level: Easy

Book Description from Goodreads:

“Being royally undead isn’t all it’s cracked up to be- there are still bills to be paid. Luckily, new Queen of the Vampires Betsy Taylor lands her dream job selling designer shoes at Macy’s.

But when a string of vampire murders hits St. Paul, Betsy must enlist the help of the one vamp who makes her blood boil: the oh-so-sexy Sinclair. Now, she’s really treading on dangerous ground- high heels and all.”

The second in the Undead series is a worthy sequel to Undead and Unwed. Betsy is an entertaining and hilarious character. Sinclair is just as sexy as ever. And all the supporting characters are wonderful.

There are no higher moral or ethical values and this series is unlikely to win any awards. However, it is funny, a quick read and extremely entertaining. The audiobook is actually really good. The narrator is perfect and I never get tired of hearing Betsy’s little smart a** remarks, cussing and whining. And while it annoys me when women obsess about shoes, when Betsy does it, it is quite amusing.

By the way, kudos to Davidson for The Great Santini reference.

A definite thumbs up for Undead and Unemployed.
